Frequently Asked Questions

Q:
I have two topics that are discussed in a one hour call, can these be broken down into two separate audios.
A:
Yes. The speaker should announce at the beginning of the call that two topics will be discussed. When the speaker transitions to the second topic, the speaker should announce this in some way.

Q:
When does Crystal Recording begin recording a call and when do they stop.
A:
Crystal Recording will make best attempt to be on the call immediately when it opens. Crystal Recording will stop recording after most people have hung up from the call.

Q:
At what point will the audio begin playing on the Internet. Will it start with the Introductions or when the speaker begins the topic.
A:
Yes. Crystal Recording will record the entire call and then edit out for the final version the beginning and ends to the point that you want. These points are usually communicated to Crystal Recording when the account is setup. When special calls arise that will have a different beginning or ending, a simple e-mail before or after the call to indicate the new start and end point is sufficient.

Q:
I have a call that I must have no matter what. How are you going to ensure this?
A:
Crystal Recording has taken great strides on recording reliability. Our average is 99.5% success rate in recording and processing calls. All facilities have battery backup capable of sustaining recording equipment for the duration of a 1 hour call. Crystal Recording also has facilities in different parts of the country capable of simultaneously recording a call to protect against phone service disruption, human error, etc.

Q:
I am on a regular Conference Call package of one call per week, but I have this one call that popped up that I want recorded and put on my web-site. What will this cost and when do I have to let you know by to have the call recorded.
A:
Special calls will be recorded at the rate of $60.00 for a 1 hour call and $40.00 for a 30 minute call. Crystal Recording would prefer as much notice as possible, but we can usually accommodate request will as little as 1 hour notice.

Q:
My regular conference call is scheduled for 1 hour, but it was only 30 minutes in length this time. Will I be charged for the full 1 hour..
A:
Yes. Scheduled calls are billed based on the scheduled length.

Q:
How much space on my web-site will a 1 hour call take.
A:
A 1 hour call is normally 2.5 Megabytes after the ends are removed.

Q:
I do not have a web-site now, does Crystal Recording make the web-site and provide the audio.
A:
No. Crystal Recording will do "minor" web-site modifications to an existing site. This is usually to a page that has been setup by a web-master for the audio archives. If you are in need of web-site design, we recommend using B&N Dreammakers who can be contacted at 818-882-4488
